[Sancheong's symbol mark] symbolically shows the wills and visions for development of Sancheong, which is soaring up towards the 21st century based on the outstanding natural landscape, the harmonious county residents, and the promising future of Sancheong.

The symbol mark consists of 3 parts.

  • The mountain in the upper part represents Jirisan Mountain, the sacred mountain of the Korean people, as well as the spirit of strong classical scholars.
  • The dynamic ring, twining around Jirisan Mountain, symbolizes the development of Sancheong in the future.
  • The shape of a gem in the lower part is symbolic of the pure waves and the clean natural environments of Gyeonghogang River, Deokcheongang River, and Yangcheongang River.

The general heart shape represents rich lives, harmonious county residents, and warm-heartedness. As it contains the county residents' will of open administration and local development oriented toward county residents, it symbolizes the tourism county, Sancheong's harmonious combination of development and conservation as the center of Jirisan Mountain cultural area in the 21st century as well as an important traffic center.
