The 5th Scenic View – Gyeonghogang River Scenic View
The Gyeonghogang River was named because the “water is as clear as a mirror.” It starts from Gangjeong, Eoseo-ri, Saengcho-myeon and passes through Sancheong-eup and down to Jinju Jinyangho Lake. The 32km long river is known for its clear water and exceptional surrounding landscapes. There are countless number of poems and writings by numerous poets, authors, and artists about the beauty of this river. The river boasts beautiful sceneries of the Sugyejeong and Jeokbyeoksan Mountain reflecting on the clear river waters like a mural, Baengmasan Mountain, the old fortress grounds in the area, Saengcho Ancient Tombs, Sculpture Park, Yangchon Gangbyeon, as well as the Eomhyesan Mountain that glows fire red with the setting sun, and people fishing on the river banks. During the summer season, the wide river with rapid flowing water provides thrilling experience for those who enjoy speeding down the river on a raft.
